Grow Your Blog

Hello!!!

I'm Trina. Welcome to my little spot within the cyber-universe.I know I'm a little early on posting for GYB, but I was a little too excited to wait.

I have been stitching since I was in the 4th grade... somewhere around 20 years perhaps. It's crazy to think it's been that long. My lovely mother is responsible... she bought some cross stitch ornaments for me to make my 4th grade teachers for Christmas. I picked it up and have been doing it ever since. It's definitely a way for me to relax when I am discombobulated. I can get lost in a pattern and all of my negative thoughts just flow right on out the window. I love it to say the least.

I have two children... 1 girl, Cobi Lynn, and 1 boy, Gage Egan. I will typically refer to them as "the Girl" or "the Boy" on my blog. They are my pride and joy... my greatest accomplishments in life thus far. I am also pet parent to Cricket. My 4-legged child is almost 9 and more mischievous than both of my human children combined.

The title of my blog may give the impression that I rant and rave. Aside from the sometimes off the wall thoughts and ideas, I try to keep it well within the limits of what is expected from a true, transplanted Southern Belle. My, my, my... I think I am suffering from the vapors and am in need of my hand fan and a cold glass of co-cola. Maybe that was a little over dramatic... seeing as it's maybe 20 degrees outsides. Unfortunately, I don't blend into the South very well at all times. I don't drink sweet tea... only un-sweet. And, I don't particularly care for grits... pass the cream of wheat.

Wow... I think I digressed just a little.

Before I leave you, I wanted to show you the little pillow ornament I made for my dear friend,  Miss Sherry. I was sooo proud of myself for keeping it a secret from her until I had her close her eyes and open her hands this morning. I found the pattern on Stitchy Kitty... and it was free. We like free, don't we?

It's almost too cute!

Well... I'm glad you dropped by! Have a wonderfully, lovely day or evening!

  1. Hiya, Trina, and welcome to GYB... I'm one of Vicki's "volunteers" sent to meet and greet. I love your blog title and your entertaining writings, 'cause we all need a little humor, right? I loved cross stitch when my children were growing up (it may have kept me from becoming a raving lunatic, who knows?) and it is fun to see your wonderful projects, so I'll be back to visit again :)

Would you consider adding a link in your post to Vicki's site to help keep the blog love flowing? See ya soon!

  3. Trina, your blog really made me smile - I love your Southern wit and charm! I think we would have a lot of fun if we lived near each other. I'm in WV near Wash, DC and couldn't see on your blog where you now reside. Please come party with me in blogland! Cindy from TheCranesNest.com and the GROW YOUR BLOG party

    1. Hi, Cynthia! I have family up your way. Currently, I reside in Northwest, GA near the TN line. Long story short... I was born in Germany, have lived all over the place... too many places to list, lol... and ended up transplanted here due to my crazy ex-husband. Ha! (Ok, I guess that was naughty... calling him crazy, but it was better than the alternative!) I'm on my way to visit you in your little spot in blogland!

  4. Hi Trina! Your cross stitch is amazing. I did cross stitch while my two girls were little, but now that I have bifocals I have trouble seeing the stitches. Still love seeing the work of others and yours is outstanding. Now I have a passion for rubber stamps. Stop by my blog for this blog party at terriscardsnmore.blogspot.com

  6. First , LOVE the name of the blog ! Second, you have WAY much more self control and patience than I do when I am having " an off day ". I think I would probably poke someone with the needle if I had to concentrate on such fine details on a manic day ! Quilting for me is sooo much easier !

    1. LOL... you cracked me up! Thank you for that!
I have completed some quilts in the past. I still have a huge fabric stash. It's been tucked away in my attic since the tragic death of my sewing machine and table. But, that's what I get for trying to move it myself and dropping it all down a set of steps. I tried to be the brute heifer and failed... epically!

  23. Dear Trina,

I am sending greetings from South Carolina, where I am still making the rounds of the GYB party. It is slow going because I like to spend a little time at each one checking it out and because my time has been very limited recently.

Your Doxie is so cute! If you find a moment to pay my blog a visit, you will see in my recent post that I have had my grand dog and 3 of my grands here for the better part of the last few months. He is also very mischievous too. I took some pictures of him and posted on my blog and pinned on Pinterest. He has picked up a lot of interest on Pinterest for the past 2 days. It seems many people have a weakness for Doxies.

Your cross stitch and embroidery creations are beautiful. That little pinguin pillow is adorable.

I am signing up to follow your posts. I hope you might find a moment or two to check my eclectic blog space out. Have a beautiful week!
